In many ways, our children have become more docile. There is an obvious trend toward online pursuits. As a result, physical competence is in decline. Physical confidence is keeping pace in the downward Spiral.
While in The Arena, children will perform exercises and movements as an individual, pair, and group. Exercises and movements are designed to maximize output potential while minimizing muscular burnout. Every day children will reach their limit…and then exceed it.
Physical games are designed to engender a competitive spirit, humble attitude, and progress communicative ability while under stress.
I’m not sure when it happened, but it feels like our kids are experiencing scholastics with a watered-down teaching of thought. How to think is playing second fiddle to a slew of…what to think. If we want to imbue the importance of philosophy on our children, we must prioritize it.

I’m not sure when it happened, but it feels like our kids are experiencing scholastics with a watered-down teaching of thought. How to think is playing second fiddle to a slew of…what to think. If we want to imbue the importance of philosophy on our children, we must prioritize it.
In The Arena, children will participate in numerous ‘brain games’. Each game is designed with 3 questions of purpose. How did you think about it, why did you think that way, can we reflect and try again.
Every child will experience failure and success in these games. The key will be growing mental confidence through both outcomes.
Today, we are experiencing a growing population of self-identified depressed youth. 5 days isn’t enough to unpack all the ingredients causing the issue. But it is enough, in an Aristotelian sense, to provide a basic toolbelt of habit. As excellent habit over time amounts to virtue, then habit of thought will lead to habit of action.

In the Arena, children will learn the basics of courage, humility, prudence, loyalty, and integrity. They will interface with these through physical exertion, mental rigors, and small group discussions. They may not know what they stand for (likely), but they’ll have an idea of what they want to stand for and how to achieve it.
Our children have a much more complex environment to mature in than my wife and me. We’re Gen X’ers. We had a show literally called “Unplugged”. That term means something totally different today.
While in The Arena, in scheduled free time, your children will be offered the opportunity to explore open spaces laced with sports gear, games, puzzles etc…, but no technology.
When engaged in the program, the only tech they will encounter is when they listen to speeches, watch presentations, or when we blast music.
Anyone who’s had a baby knows their joy when they first stand or take their first step. Then they continue milestones along the way. However, as more screen time takes hold, physical confidence can fall by the wayside.
In the Arena, we provide myriad ways to explore one’s physicality. Every child will be pushed to a limit, understand it, and move beyond it. Whether it be pushups, sprints, or team games, each child will learn how to improve and have confidence in their physicality.
Today, more than ever, children are presented information through a variety of means. Rarely, if ever, is the information presented to challenge how they think vice how they learn. Tactile, verbal etc. are how people learn, but what about how to think…
In The Arena, we provide opportunities for children to examine how they think through a variety of mental challenges. When one can understand how to think, then one can begin to understand how to effectively to communicate.
Today, outside of the family, our children are being subjected to a sea of ‘influencers’, often not of our choosing. They are revered not for thoughtful construction of philosophies, emotional temperance, or moral courage.
In The Arena, we provide a space to explore foundational lessons of philosophy and discipline imbuing self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-respect.
